Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about GEO, AI search and working with TropiGEO.

What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?

GEO is the practice of making a business easy for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews to understand, trust and recommend. Where SEO aims for a high position in a list of links, GEO aims for your business to be named and cited inside the AI-written answer.

How is GEO different from SEO?

They share a technical base — crawlable pages, clear structure, authority. GEO adds work on entity consistency (the same business facts everywhere), answer-first content that AI can quote, and presence on the third-party sources AI assistants cite. Good GEO usually improves SEO too.

Which AI engines do you cover?

ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Microsoft Copilot. Audits cover the five most used by your customers; monthly programmes can include all of them.

Which markets do you serve?

Singapore and Malaysia today, in English, with Bahasa Melayu and Chinese prompts where relevant. Indonesia and Thailand are on our roadmap.

Can you guarantee my business will be recommended by ChatGPT?

No — and you should be careful of anyone who does. AI answers vary from run to run and models update often. We sample each prompt several times, report how often you appear, and focus on the factors that consistently raise that rate.

How long does GEO take to show results?

Technical fixes such as unblocking AI crawlers can show up within weeks, once engines re-crawl your site. Content and citation work usually takes 2–4 months to move mention rates meaningfully, depending on your category and competitors.

How much does GEO cost in Singapore and Malaysia?

Our AI Visibility Audit is S$990 (RM2,900). GEO Foundation starts at S$2,900 (RM8,900), and the monthly GEO Growth programme starts at S$1,900/month (RM5,500/month). Every price is published on our pricing page.

Do I need to block or allow AI crawlers?

If you want AI assistants to recommend you, their search crawlers (for example OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot and PerplexityBot) must be able to read your site. Many sites block them by accident through robots.txt or CDN bot settings. Our free check shows your current status.

What is llms.txt?

llms.txt is a plain-text file at the root of a website that summarises what the site is about and links to its most important pages, written for AI systems. It is a proposed convention rather than a formal standard, but it is cheap to add and helps keep your key facts in one place.

Do you work with agencies?

Yes. We offer audits and GEO delivery that agencies can resell to their clients. Contact us for partner terms.
